The R-Scan presents a new approach in remote standoff detection of substances. LDS's RSCAN technology has been proved to detect materials against most common background materials such as metals, glass, cloth, wood, paint and soil at distances of up to 60 meters (approximately 100 feet).

R-Scan has been field tested successfully and is undergoing integration with additional systems.

The R-Scan has the following breakthrough capabilities: 

• It can perform stand off automatic real time detection and identification.
• It can detect minute quantities of substances, including substances with low vapor pressures.
• It can remotely detect different chemicals and materials in either a solid and liquid state phase.   
• It provides a highly specific characterization of individually manufactured materials.
